An identity becomes recognisable through relationships that repeat. Type, imagery, colour and motion should belong to the same point of view, with enough variation to answer different situations.
Restraint does not mean removing character. It means choosing the details that deserve attention and letting them work across many applications. A consistent edge, a precise alignment or one distinctive material can do more than a collection of competing motifs.
Test the identity at different scales. A package, an article opener and a mobile control ask different things of the system. The idea should remain recognisable while the composition adapts.
The quiet parts matter too. A system that leaves space for the work and the people behind it can become more useful over time, without needing a new visual gesture for every application.
